About Us

Teacher MillieTeacher Millie ~ Director and Classroom Teacher

Teacher MillieI started my career with Headstart 18 years ago. After having my three children, I successfully owned and operated an in-home preschool and after-school care. This led to my owning and operating Sunny Hills School in 2004. I have always believed that children are naturally curious, and learn best through hands-on exploration. Several years ago, I heard about the Reggio Style of Teaching, and began reading and attending workshops to learn more. I am always excited to bring back what I have learned and share it with our School Community. I am committed to providing a quality program for each child and family in our community. Being with children has always been my passion, and I thoroughly enjoy coming to school and watching our community flourish.

I am a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, an independent group of early childhood specialists and educators, who evaluate child care programs for excellence in the areas of health and safety, teacher-parent interactions, learning programs, and children’s activities.

In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, watching my daughter play lacrosse, spending quality time with my family and friends, reading, decorating, camping, dancing, and listening to local music.
